JK GOLD RECAP! 9/3/2022
Varsity boys placed 3rd out of 17 teams with 87 points, trailing Wichita Trinity in second with 86 points and KMC in first with 50 points. GEHS had 5 runners in the top 25, Parker Walion finished 3rd out of 122 runners with a time of 16:23. Aidan Scherman placed 13th with a time of 17:01. Ken Morgan finished 22nd with a time of 17:34. Jackson Elsey finished 24th with a time of 17:37. Cade Halton finished 25th with a time of 17:38. Connor Postel finished 30th with a time of 17:49. Nick Kilonzo finished 37th with a time of 18:05. Since moving to 6A, this was the best program finish for varsity boys at JK Gold.
Varsity girls finished 5th out of 10 teams with 99 points. The team was led by senior Sarah Farrens along with four big time freshmen in the mix. Sarah Farrens finished 10th out of 84 runners with a time of 21:11. Bella Meili finished 12th with a time of 21:21.1 followed by Landri Schaeffer in 13th with a time of 21:21.6. Joslyn Griffin finished 27th with a time of 22:20. Olivia Walion finished 37th with a time of 22:57. Evelyn Mckelvey finished 40th with a time of 23:15 followed by Aliyah Schroeter in 41st with a time of 23:19.
Jv boys got 2nd out of 13 teams with 58 points. The boys edged out Bishop Carroll by 4 points to take 2nd, but trailed to KMC in 1st with 25 points. There were 5 runners in the top 25 with Seth Greener just missing the medals in 26th. Robert Falkner was the race champion finishing in 1st place with a time of 17:48. Andrew Leach got 2nd with a time of 18:04. Cooper Peyton finished 9th with a time of 18:47. Eric Massaro finished in 23rd with a time of 19:35. Brayden Crowder finished in 25th with a time of 19:41. Seth Greener finished in 26th with a time of 19:43. Israel Martinez-Ramos finished in 34th with a time of 20:08. Abenezer Worku finished in 27th with a time of 20:11. Jude Meili finished in 41st with a time of 20:25. Brenton King finished in 72nd with a time of 21:53.
